Art as a form of expression, integration, and healing is celebrated at Galleywinter. Creative folks of all kinds are drawn to Galleywinter farm, which serves as both gathering place and inspiration.
We believe that art is a form of expressing a truth within us, and everyone is an artist.
Are you looking for a place to create art or music that cultivates that expression? Galleywinter would love to host you for an artistic residence (duration of a few days to a few weeks) in exchange for a work around the farm. Previous residents include painters and violinists. The residents and passer-throughs of Galleywinter would be delighted to be in the presence of you and your art. Reach out to Gail Todter for more information.
Discoveries and experiences at Galleywinter Farm warranted documentation, so Gail created handmade journals and pommel bags. Thus began Galleywinter Arts, which has grown into a small community of the artists involved at the farm. Adorning the horse and the self is an age-old tradition and still alive today - ala the buckaroos of the sagebrush basin, the Mongolians and Tibetans, among many other horsepeoples. The artists of Galleywinter carry on this tradition in their own way with functional and beautiful adornment, crafts, and provisions. A small gift shop from the Galleywinter artists is open at Galleywinter Farm.
